Every seven minutes, someone in America will become blind or visually impaired. By 2030, the estimated number of visually impaired Americans 65 and older will double to seven million!
Visual impairment can have a great impact on the quality of life for older adults as well as family members. Low vision can create challenges for elders to prepare meals, shop for groceries, find transportation to medical appointments, or manage the household and finances.
Looking toward the next 50 years, as major demographic segments grow older, we are preparing for a significant increase in vision loss due to age-related eye diseases such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma.
Our mission remains constant. We are committed to empowering and assisting the growing number of people who must make lifestyle changes and adjustments due to vision impairment.
The current increasing need to serve older adults with age-related vision loss presents an opportunity for you to join us in our mission.
Together, we can do so much!
Giving is easy and secure. Simply select the amount you wish to give, and select how you would like your gift to be used. All donations in any amount are greatly appreciated and wisely used.
